you need this music

1. Marry Me by Train
congratulations to David and Kara Ward who got married on saturday!
this song was their first dance and it is now one of my new favorite songs b/c it's that good!

2. Dave Barnes- Very Merry Christmas (the whole album)

it's great, get excited!

monday afternoon

preface- tomorrow is our 'tacky holiday sweater party' at work...
i discovered that when 2 different goodwills AND big lots fail you, google and hobby lobby are the next best thing!

and have i told you lately how much i love my job!?
(censorship intended)

the jingle jog...

mission accomplished: we (amy, jarrod, and i) finished!
and more importantly, we got our t-shirts!

kansas city, missouri

a few weeks ago i got to visit kylie in kansas city!
highlights from the trip: 1) hanging out with kylie 2) underwear tied around the tree to keep the deer away 3) the dead duck in the truck 4) the fact that people there don't feel the need to dress up to walk around the mall 5) getting to get on an airplane and go somewhere

after church we hung out at the plaza which had top notch christmas lights!

the infamous chicken factory...

and thank you to the lovely amy harwood who picked me up from the airport when i got home!

early christmas and pjs

best present ever! my mom made us a tree skirt for our anniversary!
more christmas pictures to come next weekend after we decorate!

i was sitting on the couch, minding my own business, when jarrod walks out in footy pjs and sat down like everything was completely normal... just a typical tuesday!

1 year

this weekend we celebrated our 1 year anniversary! crazy!

we started with cirque du soleil...
the show was called OVO and it was great!

we spent the night at the Westin and this was our view!
another plus- we got a fresh carrot cake made by the same lady who made the cup cakes at our wedding!
no nasty freezer-burned-year-old wedding cake! yay!
fun picture in the reflection of the window
view of the Westin from Centennial Olympic Park
we got to see the fountains at the park before we went to brunch at the Sundial!

stockings and pumpkin pie (from a pumpkin)

thanks mom for helping me make stockings for our house!

 jarrod's super cool birthday chair

i accomplished one of my life goals- to make something pumpkin from scratch (none of that canned stuff i usually use)! a woman from work gave me the recipe and i made a pumpkin pie for jarrod's birthday.
it actually turned out pretty well!

these were pretty and fall-like so i took a picture of them...

B.Y.O.P.

we carved pumpkins at allison's house last night...
and it was quite sucessful!

(amy)
 (katie k. & josh)
 (leigh anne)
 (brooke)
 (allison & kelly)
(jarrod)
 (mine)
i love how different they all are!
typical!
someone else took a picture of the whole group,
i'll work on getting a copy!

almost one year later...

we finally finished painting our bedroom and bathroom! oh hey!
jarrod was a champ and painted all of the ceiling! amy was also a star helper!

smart moves!

i'm so glad that this is socially acceptable (and even somewhat normal) to wear socks like these to work with shoes that don't really require socks!

land of a thousand hills, yet again, this time to read...

...a book for work about child development.

we tried...

amy and i decided to go to the ellijay apple festival... this is a look at our successes and failures of the day!

chickfila = SUCCESS
(no roadtrip (big or small) is complete without it!)

major traffic = FAIL

the not-so-scenic-view = FAIL

 pumpkins = SUCCESS
(although we didn't buy one!)

apples = FAIL/SUCCESS
(these are not actually from ellijay, rather trader joes in sandy springs)

man date = SUCCESS
(jarrod & james also had an fun day!)
